The city of Galt is rurally based and supported by
surrounding agriculture. This rural atmosphere and Galt's historic
old town district contribute to a unique small town character where
residents are served and employed by merchants who know them
personally, many of whom are their own neighbors.
At the same
time, Galt enjoys benefits associated with larger communities
including a diversity of skilled job opportunities, access to an
array of shopping opportunities. Contributing to the vitality of
Galt is a strong Chamber of Commerce and an active force of local
business leaders who work closely with elected officials and
government agencies to assist in Galt's growth, development and
prosperity, while overcoming economic challenges.
Great schools, available land, affordable
resources, skilled workforce, central location, and access to major
transportation thoroughfares make Galt a preferred location for
businesses. A new statewide educational facility for Future Farmers
of America was recently completed, the new Liberty Ranch high
School opened in the Fall of 2009 and Galt is being considered for a
community college.
Galt is served by several community banks
that provide access to affordable credit and generously reinvest in
the community. Galt's proximity to Highway 99, Interstate 5, and
Highway 104 provide optimum opportunity for businesses to be
successful. The city automatically attracts regional commerce
through the Galt Open Air Market operated by the City of Galt. The
expanding business park and new retail center developments will
provide the means for Galt to continue work on infrastructure
upgrades including improved sanitation and modernized freeway
interchanges.
The environment in Galt continues to allow
small and large businesses alike to prosper as this is a community
where citizens can both live and work. There are fewer and fewer
communities in California that offer such quality of life.
